A young, prize-winning start-up

Blue Lobster connects fishermen and fishmongers with local fish consumers, by allowing fish consumers to see where and what fresh fish is available.

There is currently no easy or universal system that connects consumers directly to the source of their seafood, although there is a desire and a global trend towards eating locally. Their service is currently the only one in Denmark that would allow fish consumers to communicate in an effective and efficient way with the fishermen and fishmongers who provide locally caught fish to the area.

You’ll play an influential role in guiding their company through your tech expertise.  They are currently selling fish on behalf of their partner fishermen to partner restaurants through their app, which is in an MVP iteration. Much of what takes place everyday is occuring behind the scenes. Restaurants can order through our app, but in the background, they are sending delivery notes to restaurants while the fish is en route, invoices to restaurants within 24 hours of the delivery, and receipts to the fishermen on the spot of purchase. Additionally, they are in the process of building a website that is integrated with the app, so restaurants can log-in and see their ordering history, as well as see the available fish and place orders. Your role would be taking the lead in ensuring these seams are interconnected and automating the documents that we are currently sending manually to restaurants and fishermen.
